I've had a K3 since they came out in the summer of 2010, although my first one was stolen in December of that year, so I bought another one.
At the beginning of last week I lost my K3. I hunted high and low but couldn't find it. So I decided to buy a new kindle and thought, "Why not try the Touch?". So I got one and also a Marware Eco-Flip pink cover. I then spent a while transferring my library to the Touch. Some days later I finally found my k3 hiding in an unlikely place. So now I have my beloved K3 and the new Touch. How do I feel about them? Well I would say that from the POV of convenience I greatly prefer to K3. With the Touch I am constantly touching it the wrong way and having to undo the effect. The only problem of this sort with the K3 is inadvertently hitting a page-turn button. But I do like the lightness of the Touch and I love the Eco-Flip cover, which is much more convenient than my lighted Amazon cover on the K3. |

The things I like about the K3 (keyboard) are the page-turn buttons, the amount of stuff it holds, the ability to organize things, having a few MP3s along, and being able to browse the Web anywhere via 3G. I don't think you can get all of those things on any of the "current" Kindles.
I also use a lot of other digital devices, and have Kindle reading applications on many of them. As a result, I read on a 10" tablet (lighted, touchscreen), a smartphone (ditto), on my laptop, etc. Having a backlit screen is nice, sometimes, though I don't see having a touchscreen as a particular benefit for reading, as I can manage the K3 with one hand. As Babar said, "Some people like one thing, some like another. I like grilled bananas." -Shel |
