I only use wireless connections if I can't do otherwise. I share the opinion of Ralph Sir Edward regarding the marketers but it's more that this field is one of my irrational fears. I'm still thinking that it can't be good for our health to have so many waves flying around. I know that this health fear might be irrational but I nevertheless have it.

The security aspects of using wpa2 secured wireless are so immensely dwarfed by those of simply having a browser and download manager, it simply isn't worth worrying about.
IOW, wifi isn't the door the hackers are trying to open. |

I have several devices that can use wireless but I almost never use it. I do have them set up for it, though. The only thing I use it for is my KT, and even then I only turn it on when I want to download a book.
My main concern is reliability. I live in a rural area and I have had enough hiccups the few times I've used a wireless connection that I really don't trust it for, say, streaming Netflix or some such. I realize that it does work for the most part but I much prefer using a wired connection. I have two cables run to my bedroom which are used for an HD Roku, a PS3 and an Oppo BD player. I mainly use it for updates on the last two machines and I prefer the Netflix interface on my PS3. That's under normal circumstances. My internet provider is in the midst of a merger and I have been without wireless service for the last three weeks. That's no big deal for me but I know it's driving a lot of people crazy. The only inconvenience for me is that I've had to sideload any books I've bought for my KT. |

I prefer wired to wireless (lower latency, more reliable, faster throughput) but I have no issues with using wireless. I'm more concerned about being connected to the internet than I am a WPA2 encrypted home wireless connection. |

We travel a lot ane use a secure wireless card. Otherwise we are pretty much wire free. Pardon, I mean cable free.

Desktop PCs are wired. Tablet, laptop and smartphone are wireless.
