September 2010 also. Sometimes it's a bit slow but then again, it's also loaded with books. Some of the print of the keys wore off and battery life has gone to hell. About a day or two (WIFI off). Although I still really like it, I'll have to upgrade soon.

Christmas 2010, it's been fantastic, no idea how many books I have read on it in the past 16 months, but it feels like a lot. Makes it so easy to read on an ad hoc basis, wish I got it sooner!

My wifes kindle is one of the first K3's from august/september and she is reading 5-6 books or more a week, so a real hardcore reader.

With the kinde came the original Amazon cover (with light).

Since today the K3 is working. Screen still looks very good compared to my own K3. Even better then my old KDX. But it is falling apart. You cannot read 60-70% of the keys anymore cause the print was rubbed off over the time.

Some keys you'll have to press twice and battery time is dropping step by step.

But for the time the kinde was used and how it was handeld (it follows on businesstrips around the world, pools and beaches and nearly every transport vehicle the planet knows ) this is very impressive. The cover already build up a nice patina and feels very good in your hand.

So i am still impressed how well build the kindle 3 is and we will switch it against a new K3 as soon as it falls apart (which will be soon i guess )

Got mine also in November 2010. I was going on a fairly long trip in December and finally decided to buy it. It took me a couple of months to make the decision. "Touch wood" and "fingers crossed" it still works perfectly.

Ordered 7/30/2010 and received 8/27/2010 for my Kindle 3rd Gen Keyboard. It still works fine. It was replaced on 9/5/2010 by Amazon. On 12/15/2010 the hooked cover was returned for a refund as it had been shorting out the Kindle unit.

However, I only use it for bright light reading and use my Kindle Fire for most other reading.

Battery has been charged at the signal and it still lasts almost 40 days before a recharge is needed.

Waiting for a replacement for mine at the present. I dropped it the other day and the screen is now all messed up. My luck was that the 1 yr warranty was up just shortly before I had the accident so it will cost me $65.00 to replace it which is still not bad I guess.

I bought my Kindle 3 Keyboard 3G in July 2011 ... and broke the display in August 2011. Since then I have been using my iPad and since December 2011 the Kindle Fire.

Now that the sun is getting stronger again (even over here in Germany), I have just got a new (used) Kindle 3 Keyboard from eBay. This time the WiFi version only, but a German one, (not the US Special Offers version again) which can make potential warranty use in Germany easier.

Bought my 3g model in the summer of 2010(I think it was August) after accidentally busting the screen of my k1.
