Best Buy is still selling T1s for $86.00 where they have them in stock. I found a stack last weekend in Elizabethtown, KY.

I've been checking BB and FS and Staples websites daily, they were on sale last week for $130, same price as BB in US andSony store.

This week, and I just checked again now, all are showing for $150. So i'm wondering if it was just some sort of in-store promotion? I'm sad to be missing out. $100 was my price!

And I had decided to buy the case too [those are showing as on sale for me at FS! weird] But I was just reading a thread in the Kobo forum about a website that sells excellent covers for like $15, called skindigital, I will be checking that out for sure...

I think I've decided on the red, since glare is a concern, especially if you're going to be using a reader light occasionally. I love white, but just concerned about scuffs & scratches showing so easily.

Also I did download the Kindle app and just convert any purchased to add to my Kobo through Calibre. I love that and have taken advantage of quite a few $0 purchases!

I wonder how I can get the PRS online at Future Shop for $100 when it's showing $150 for me? I'll try dumping cookies and see if that helps...

EDIT: [blonde moment] And I just read your reply carefully, and realized you were talking about the Kobo Touch and not the Sony PRST1. Ha, see what happens when you're in a hurry?

Oh well, I will still be keeping my eyes open for that great deal !!! I hope you enjoy your Kobo Touch.

I'm in Canada, but have been checking the BB US online store as well. I have a couple of friends in the States that I could get this shipped to and they would forward to me. But so far, no luck seeing it for that price online.

And thank you who suggested the refurbished at the Sony Store for $100, but I think that might be US, and as I know from reading here that they've put the new ones on for that price, I'd rather just get a new one.

I just checked FutureShop again, I see they've taken the Kobos down in price to $99, but I'm showing the Sony's at $150...

That's because Kobo dropped their price for Mother's Day. At least that's what they said in the email I got from them. It has nothing to do with any one retailer, Kobo dropped the price temporarily.

Actually that appears to be their new price. The Mother's Day promo is that they give a free gel-skin with purchase for the same price...

I make up a list of the author's books (Google big help here) then I go to Toronto Public Library and see which books on the list they have available to lend. I note this beside each of this author's books then buy only the ones I have to. Warning: if the author is popular you sometimes have to put books on waiting list and Library will email when it is ready for pick-up.

Thanks for the tip! I haven't ventured into the 'e-library' world yet, but I definitely want to check out the process one day.
