I understand that this is most likely an issue from the source (Toronto Star) than from Kobo. But TWICE this week, the "Living" section has been missing from the paper! April 12 and now April 14. Other than the news section itself, it's the ONE section that I click through one article at a time, and the one I most miss.
I would surely love to complain directly to the source, but unfortunately I must do so through an intermediary. But do I really also need to officially open yet-another whiny bitchy complaint in the help system? My experience there is sadly still not good enough for newspaper subscription complaints: I'll get the auto-response within the day, then later (perhaps even a day or two later) somebody says they're escalating it to tier 2 or 3, and then I STILL don't get a fixed paper. The last time I'd bothered complaining about missing sections previous to Apr 12, an "updated" edition was released to the iPhone (but not to the Kobo Touch) which included the missing sections but NOT also the rest of the paper. edit: The Living section is also missing from the April 16 issue! To anyone who was having problems with not seeing all the issues they should on iOS devices, could you please refresh your library on your iOS device and check and see if issues that were previously missing are now visible.
An issue had been found, which was not specific to the iOS application, whereby the total number of issues was being incorrectly returned (we ask for a list of items and request it is split up into "pages" with 10 items on each page, it seems the total number of items was being set to the number of items per page we asked for, so we only saw a max of 10 items), and this resulted in you seeing less issues than you should have done. Non iOS devices typically didn't see this issue as they had a higher number of items per page being requested, something like 100 - 300. In this situation the total number would, provided of course you had less than the per page number, be set to the actual total number of items, so you would see all the issues. This would explain why some people would get all the issues on a Touch but the same list of issues would not be present on their iOS device. |
