And if you want to download US-only books, use Hotspot Shield. I lived overseas for two and a half years and used it a lot. Works great.

But yeah, the easiness of DRM removal makes me wonder why they bother in the first place.

Do you trust Hotspot Shield? I've tried it and something just doesn't feel right with it.

A lock on your door does not keep the thief out. It merely keeps the honest person out. Nobody advertises that removing DRM is legal. Most people just assume that and think they do something criminal or unethical and won't do it. Lockpicking is illegal if you intend to break into something you are not allowed access to in the first place. Lockpicking your own door if you forgot your key is perfectly legal - they even have lockpicking services if you can't do it yourself.

It depends where you live; it's perfectly legal where I am.

I am sorry, I am not a lawyer. And we are talking Sweden here. I assume in some places in the world it would be illegal - some are not even allowed to make a copy of audio-cds as backup incase the original breaks.

I used it while I lived in Japan to stream Netflix, and download mp3s from Amazon, or sometimes to watch videos on websites that were blocked outside the states (I think espn.com may have been one such site). When I returned to the USA, I removed it from my computer with no problems. I never had any issues with it and I liked it a lot.

Just try to get PayPal's debit card. I've got one of those, and I'm usually able to use it wherever I would normally use a card.
