pdf never was and never will be intended to be read on a 6" eink screen (unless you get an edition, which was deisgned for a 6" screen - however, most documents out there are formatted to A4). It's just a wrong idea. eink readers are made for ebook formats. pdf is not an ebook format. If you truly want to enjoy your pdf collection, a tablet is the appropriate device.

I had this problem too, and found a sort of workaround. I keep a book on the internal memory, then let sony build the book.db, both steps without an SD card. Once done, I put a book on the sd card and let the T1 build the book.db.

Once done, I have a look under the folder Sony_Reader\database\cache\books\ both on the local storage and on the SDcard. On the local storage, the name of the folder will be 1, 2, etc, with the number of books there. And on the SDCard, it will be something like Sony_Reader\database\cache\books\4294967297\.

If that's the case, then the bookmarks will be ok and appear on the second home screen of the T1. Then I can use the sony software to extract them.

That's interesting. I might give that a try sometime if the bookmark issue ever becomes really problematic for me. I pretty much just use the bookmark feature to mark my current place in a book. The T1 does a good job remembering what page I was on. The only reason I ran into the issue at all was because when I updated the firmware, the T1 forgot what page I was on in the books I had going, and I had to manually find my place again.

But now that I know about this issue, and the Collections issue, I have to wonder if Sony even test the T1 with an SD card in it when putting it through QA. Both issues are incredibly easy to find, unless it's sporadic and only affects certain users for whatever reason.
