I had seven by the author (one still only in hardcover). So, you can guess how many I'll have by tonight (and where this week's budget is going, right?).

Sometimes the early books are the most important for a long running series.

Gack! Not one title overlapped between what I already had as an ebok and what was on sale!

4 titles already on Kindle - bought before the Agency takeover at under a buck each, on average (and now all four quite highly priced), 3 others bought elsewhere.

I will be able to consign the paper book to the used store, though.

One thing that should be pointed out: the price is, in fact, 99c, not .99c as the thread title states.

I always thought that Ed McBain novels where of the hard core violence category. I picked up seven, so I'm about to learn.

I certainly wasn't meaning to suggest that they are similar in style to Agatha Christie

. Simply that Ed McBain is as well known in his field as she is in hers.

Snagged 33 of them. 2 I already had in paperback from years ago.

I've only read a handful of McBain's 87th Precinct, but I have found them to be great reads. And those I have read have been out of order, and from various decades. While reading all of them, in order, may provide some additional enjoyment, I have never found them to be a problem read as stand alone novels.

I especially like the 50's and 60's books.

Here is a question. How can I organize that 87th Precinct series so that I will read them from oldest to newest?

This information may not be correct, but I'm reporting it so that no one runs into any trouble in case there are issues:

1) It's reported at Amazon by some people who were trying to get the entire series, that their banks have put a hold on the card due to these 99 cent transactions (35 transactions - or 35 clicks), since one cannot buy all at one time.

2) There MAY be a limit on the total number that Amazon can sell, which means their allotment MIGHT run out if too many digital units are sold.

To avoid issue #1, I'm buying mine in 10-unit purchases (10 clicks) and then wait about 1/2 hour before buying another 10-unit purchase (another 10 clicks).

I've just now bought 10.

I just bought 33 I can't find all 35. Wish they had a list that you could just tick them off or buy the whole set in one batch.

Thanx, I saw that, just can't figure out how to get them in the same order in my Kindle. I suppose I can always refer back to post #2.
