Yes, a LOT. Thank god for smart phones or I'd never have a chance to read. |

![]() But on a similar note: I concur that a reading app that lets you customize font type, size and color, background color, margins and spacing, etc, are your best friend. Being able to set those options makes all the difference between comfortable reading and eyestrain. |

Reading on smartphones with 3.5" or bigger screens and dedicated reading apps is actually a major improvement for me. Before the proliferation of smartphones and affordable e-ink readers, I used to read books and fanfics on my feature phone. I'd email myself a TXT or HTML version of my books and read them on my phone's 1.5" screen from Yahoo's WAP site. After that, it was PDF on the PSP. When there's a will, there's a way.

All the time! I use Moon reader, which has a scroll feature, so I don't have to worry about turning pages. That feature, along with the dark background and light text, make it quite enjoyable.

When I'm home I read on my Kobo Touch 100% of the time, but if I am waiting somewhere then I'll take my phone out for a few minutes of reading, or while I'm walking somewhere.
I've tried reading on various sizes of LCD screens and I can't really get used to it, I find Eink much easier on the eyes (Yes I do turn the backlight down to its lowest setting, and I can't stand white on black) |

Copy that. Screen is far to small for comfortable reading. It doesn't make sense to do so. IPhone is nice, but there are limitations.

I went back to phone reading
From a Sony PRS350. I started reading on my Palm. . .um100? You know, that first ugly little cheapie PDA they put out, Worked my way up to a Treo. The screen was barely adequate on the Treo for reading, the PDA's weren't too bad but their time in the sun was over.
So I bought a Sony PRS300 and then a 350 and was reasonably happy with my reading options (except for non text pages) When I got an Android phone with a 4 inch screen it wasn't for reading, but I tried the Kobo app first, then the B&N, and the Amazon. Pretty nice reading device. The screen is big enough even for (not too detailed) non text pages. (I'm in my early 60's and I don't have much problem with the text or page image of any sort). I still have the PRS350, but I don't use it much. I like the large number of purchase options my Droid offers me for books. I might look into a Kindle Fire at some point mostly for technical reference books and some other entertainment options, but I doubt I'd give up reading on my Droid. It's always with me and just too convenient for those 'down time' moments. |

I can't read on my iPhone. The screen is too small, and it uses too much battery. I prefer using my iPad to read instead. I do have my readers on my phone just in case, but I never use it.

My first choice will always be my kindle, however there are a few occasions when I read on my iPhone. Mainly when it's not conveniant to use the bigger kindle, I.e lack of space on a crowded train, trying to eat on the train and read at the same time, having a sneaky read. Sometimes at night if I've taken my kindle out of its lighted cover and can't be bothered to put it back in or get my kandle out I'll read on my phone.

Yes I do. I usually have one book I'm reading on my ereader and one one my iPhone. It's really convenient when waiting in the doctor's office, or on break at work.

My answer is no. I have a Tracfone. There's no apps for it, no data plan. I don't use it to make phone calls much either. It's an emergency road phone that spends most of its life turned off. I'm not into being connected 24/7. I hate when my house phone rings. I don't give my Tracfone number out, so it never does!
Even if I wanted to read on it, the screen is entirely too tiny for that. Besides, my PRS-350 goes everywhere with me. |

Read on my phone all the time, for hours on end. For novels it's a toss up to me whether I'll read on my iPad or iPhone. For the web, magazines etc., I much prefer the iPad

I do read a LITTLE bit on my phone when all else fails, but it's hardly my go-to reader.
And, I'm wondering where this mackerel came from. |
