B&N sells him, but I don't think it's DRM-free.

Actually, quite a few books on my list came out as e-books this year. A lot of the classic SF&F [defined as books I read as a teenager <grin>] has come out as ebooks this year as well as classic adventure books such as the Hornblower saga. There are still quite a few on my list, led by Roger Zelazny's books and the Harry Potter books.

One of the authors that I read, Jerry Pournelle, mentioned on his blog that he is doing better with his backlist as e-books than he did with the standard re-releasing books, so it seems that more and more authors are becoming comfortable with the idea of releasing their backlist as e-books. Hopefully, 2012 will be even better!

Most of my favorite authors (romance genre) converted back in the Fictionwise heydays. I have a handful of authors that are still holdouts:

Judith McNaught
Mary Balogh (her latest publisher is releasing her backlist one at time, repackaged in duos, intentionally)
J.K. Rowling - 2012, I hope! I'd like to reread before I watch the films as marathon.

But frankly, if its not in e-format, it doesn't get read. I don't find it convenient to lug p-books around anymore for the snippets I get to read, and my long-time reading happens late at night where I can't have a light on.

Still can't get a certain book though I won't get into details as to why I can't get it.
