Yeah I know. But the x50's series held their price. The T1 has lost 33% in less than 2 months. The x50's did have some price cuts but not to this extreme. New 650's still go for over well over $200.

Most stores have plenty of stocks if you can find a print out of that coupon.

Same here. And retailers over here wonder why everyone goes online and buys stuff from OS. I am waiting for the after Christmas sales to see if there are any price reductions as I would like to be able to easily return it if there are problems, however now even with postage it's going to turn out a fair bit cheaper to order online.

I ordered from Sonystyle USA store on 10/6/11 for $149. I just called them and they are refunding me the price difference even though it's been more than 30 days (their usual window). I'm really surprised and pleased. I haven't used it much because I was waiting for cheaper covers to be available.

It may end up coming from the same (re)seller (J&R, ABT, etc.), but I would much rather order on Amazon.com than on eBay. At least if anything goes wrong with the product or shipping you would have to deal with Amazon customer service, which is a million times better than the non-existent eBay customer service.

The price on Amazon is currently $99 as well.

I purchased my T1 at Future Shop Canada in Nov ( $169 )... they just reimbursed me $30 to match the current price listed at Sony.ca ($139).

It is true. And ebay charges extra recycling fee in CA, which makes the price much higher than Amazon.

I ended up buying my T1 through Sony's education store. It is lower than $99. I am satisfied with that.

Bestbuy credited my account for $20 (169-149) today. I have to decide if I should e-mail again and ask for the extra 10. I purchased Nov 18th online.

Now it's $129.00 on Amazon. By the way, I found this store on eBay, who sells at $99. The store says that it's Official Sony Store. Is it real?

It sounds like you made an online purchase from Bestbuy Canada? (Sorry if you didn't get it from Canadian Bestbuy.) If that's the case, you should get more money back than extra 10.

I just bought mine from Sony Canada online for $114.99 (before HST) with the coupon code I mentioned in the earlier post. That'd be like extra $35 instead of $10 they owe you.

Looks like it is the official Sony store on eBay. I suspect being an official Sony store it will act like SonyStyle (i.e. no shipping to mail forwarding companies, sales tax in most states, strict limits to order quantities, etc.) But maybe it won't.

It looks like the $99 on Amazon have run out for now. I suspect there will be more, unless at the $99 price point they will be quickly sold out and never replenished, like the PRS-650 last year. Sony's plans are very hard to read.

When I called them, they apologized, but refused to refund a penny. The price match policy is 30 days, and that's that. I guess that's the price you pay for being an early adopter: first they blow the expected ship date by two weeks, and a two months later they drop the price of the gadget by a third. Must be really hurting to sell their stock before X-Mas and get out of the U.S. market for another year.
