I'm both single and a Carpenters fan, so "Solitaire" seemed appopriate ("Solitaire" was a top 20 hit for the Carpenters). "1" was added to make it less likely to be already in use. The cat avatar is one of the defaults and changed it to make more interesting than my old one. I'm also a comic book reader, and "Earth-Prime" is used in DC Comics to refer to our Earth (the real world), as opposed to Earth-One (the Silver Age Earth), Earth-Two (the Golden Age Earth), and so on (at one point DC had 53 different versions of Earth in continuity).

5thWiggle was my user name on another forum BM (before Mobileread). The handle evolved after the birth of our twin girls, both of whom quickly became colicky. Worse, the distress one was feeling amplified the other's own distress in a Pete Townshend-esque wailing feedback loop. Many sleepless nights were spent, pacing up and down with squalling infants singing "Rock-a-bye Your Bear" in a bleary montone. After months of this, we were both exhausted. One night, my wife looked at me and a said "I was going to ask you a question but I can't remember what it was. I'm so tired, I can't even remember your name." I mumbled something about not being sure myself, but after all the singing I thought I must be the fifth member of the Wiggles.

I got mine from John Darnielle, aka The Mountain Goats. If you haven't heard any of their songs, I really recommend it; you'll have a hard time finding a more eloquate or poetic lyricist. Try the songs 'Love love love', 'Woke up new' and 'Sax Rohmer #1'.

I’m a geographically mobile Florida boy who’s always liked the name of Neil Young’s one-and-done backing band from his “Harvest” album. The avatar is a photo by a fellow photographer I worked with back in my journalism days (daze?).

I'd recommend the songs "No Children" and "Old College Try." Both songs were used on the series "Moral Orel" and were perfect for the episodes they were featured in.

I've been Winspiration for a good few years, dating back to when I used to do consumer competitions / contests. I have a (non-commercial) website of the same name too. I don't do the competitions any more but still like the name and it isn't usually taken, although there are a few others around now.

My nick comes from my hobby workbench. I do a lot of leather crafting, and use a 'stitching awl,' or 'stitchawl' for hand-sewing many projects. I thought it sounded friendlier than 'knife.'

Mine is dumb. I couldn't think of a name for the life of me, way back when I started using my own internet in like 1997. I happened to have a Quake II box on my desk, so I paired that with my anniversary with my girlfriend, and the internet legend Quake1028 was born.

I may be extroverted when I am out, but at heart I thrive on being alone. Specially with my books.

I was at that sale, too! After some scrambling and clawing I was able to grab "MJK2112," but I haven't had a chance to use it yet... ; )

It popped into my head as I was setting up this account w/o a clue as to what name I should use. It seemed witty at the time.

I never noticed your sig until just now. Very nice!
