I've read a few reports where screens have cracked because of the above scenario. Another instance happened when an ereader without a cover was placed inside a padded neoprene sleeve and then into a book bag. Protected? No, because the corner of a book pushed into the sleeve and cracked the screen.

Take a look at my previous post. That's why.

Using the Kobo Touch neoprene travel case.

It's a snug fit to be sure, but it works.

It is hard to find a sleeve that fits the reader/cover without having one custom made.

Is your Kindle in a case/cover of some kind or is it naked? Keeping any eink reading in a pocket is just waiting for it to be damaged.

No. But I'm handicapped so I don't want case / cover to add any additional weight or bulk.

Depending how you could read, you could get a case and a stand and as long as it's a touch screen, it will be easy to turn pages and not have to deal with any weight.

It's a snug fit to be sure, but it works.
If you can find a Kobo Wifi neoprene case, it will be slightly bigger than the Touch case and may fit better.

If readers are naked, I don't want to know.
