Development Golden Ermine update - Page 3

Finishing a re-do right now. Last time I did play with things in between, this time I have went right back into the allmine setup, no use in between and....waiting, waiting, waiting...woohoo, success.

Oh Wow, Thanks so much for the help, and the new SETUP!!! This makes getting it back, so much easier. Works like a dream folks, just don't touch anything in between except to unmount your USB stick, and move right on to the Allmine setup and you should be good to go!

I'm glad it worked! Once I can finish the version with Allmine, life should be easier for everyone that wants it, too...

This is simply fantastic. Anybody having troubles need to use this build and then apply Allmine if they want the market. I am good to go and cannot thank you guys enough!

this version is very fast, I really like it. Fantastic will be a golden integrating the gapps and market fix, hopefully pablob will make us a Xmas gift.
and than some fancy embeded recovery. than hopefully more roms coming out, at least a gingerbread?
or even debian based on sheevaplug? (dual boot anyone)

I would recommend you to become familiar with how the update system works before using this zipfile. Have at hand the Dingo Golden update (just in case), and be familiar with the procedure to downgrade to Dingo (in case things go wrong). If there is a problem, the PE will shutdown. If it shuts down, you will have to re-flash with the Dingo Golden update to recover the device (that's why I recommend that you get familiar with it). Also, if it fails please post here the "update.log" file from the update medium.
6) If things work out, you might want to check the "Allmine" thread.

Argh, now my internal storage is filling up and I don't know why. I keep getting told that I don't have enough space to download app updates, I was able to clean out a bit, but now I am just stuck on what more I can clean.

Thoughts.

actually, once you installed 322 MB apps, you will have this error. not the whole 2.x GB. system will stop at 2GB left, then you can't install from market any more.

I did installed this golden market full rom. is working perfectly on my 2 pes.
got market as well. very stable even after 50+ apps and snappy.
I am trying to fill it with apps, still no luck yet.
most of the apps in market are there. missing dolphin mini (e.g.) and ninesky browse while dolphin HD is there. but working fine and extremly stable.
If the installed apps number limit is still there that will be the only thing that I really can not live without with this rom.

So, if I install this update, does that prepare me for all the steps to get Market working? Or does this update actually get Market working?

The one on this thread is just a regular stock Ermine (but golden, so you can install it on top of anything).
The one on the "Golden Allmine" thread (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=159872) should have the Market working (it does not work on some devices, for reasons still under investigation). If you want to try it, make sure you get version rc2, and read the instructions within the ZIP file.

There is a website, Android Developers, that syncs their servers directly with the Android Market and every App that is available for download on the Android Market is available there as well. They list paid Apps that appear on the Android Market but I have never tried to buy one. I'm not sure you can, but because the site syncs with Google the Apps are listed.

The FREE Apps that appear on the Android Market can be downloaded directly from Android Developers, no Mods or Android Market required. I have downloaded many Apps from here with no problem. Usually what I do is browse the Google Market and if I see an App I like that I think the Edge meets the requirements for, I head to Android developers with my Edge to download it. Sometimes newer Apps won't show up right away until after the server sync occurs.

Thanks to pablob and obsessed2 for the responses, I'll keep this golden ermine on tap. I have a Visio VTAB coming, and with Developer I can get around Market.
I have a 32gb microSD, but I can use it for data without moving my system to it.

I use Orkitra and am very grateful for it. Just curious, have any of you found a way to monitor or be notified when there are updates to your installed apps, to be aware to go download them? The Market update notifications or automatic updates are one thing that tempt me to get Market working (but have not taken the plunge yet).
