Yes, but would you buy a refurbished reader at the same price the very same reader, brand new, was selling only a week ago? They have changed people's expectations and reduced the perceived worth of a new Kindle DXG to $259.-

If people know that the DXG was on sale it might annoy them but then it is their own fault for not buying it new at the lower price a week ago.

The Refurbs come with the exact same guarantee as the new units and receive an extra once over to make sure that they are fine to send out. I would not have a problem buying a refurb.

Prices fluctuate on items all the time. Any item is only worth what you are willing to pay for it.

Additionally, unless they

(1) were researching it at the time of the sale
(2) got the email about the price reduction
or
(3) delve far enough into their research to find a thread like this about the sale

there is no way they would even know the price had dropped for a short period of time.
