The first book I read of hers was The Crystal Singer, and I've read that and a number of others many times over the years.

I'm surprised that she was 85, but am reminded of a Dylan reference in The Ship Who Sang that was out of place by the time I read it, so perhaps I'm just in denial of the passage of time.

RIP Anne. Loved almost all her books - Pern, Rowan, Crystal Singer, etc.

I do hope any film(s) made of Pern don't become the debacle that Eragon did. I would rather envision the stories in my mind than have them make a mess of them.

Most of her storylines were good, Pern, Crystal Singer, Primes and her short stories.

The PTB series started OK, but somehow lost its magic especially with the Twins....

I'm quite late to this but wanted to say how much I enjoyed her dragon stories, and have just today purchased the first three ebooks to re-read.

She is on the cover of Locus magazine this month with nice article and tributes.
