Thanks, but I know it is in Mobipocket format. I can read lots of other MP ebooks in FBReader, but not this one.

MobiPocket has two different compression schemes. This may be the problem. FBReader may not be able to read the better one.

Actually, as I recall I already submitted a bug in the FBReader forum for this problem.

Dale, thanks for the info. I still would like to read the user manual. Maybe Bookeen could repost it, using the other compression method? This wouldn't affect Mobi reader users and would allow others to read it.

I agree that this is probably caused by MobiPocket's proprietary compression scheme, which isn't supported by FBReader because MobiPocket has never released details of how to decompress such files.

This may just be an oversight on Bookeen's part, since the manual is actually a good sales tool and Linux and Mac owners are prime potential customers for the Cybook. They just need to regenerate the file with non-proprietary compression. I have posted a comment on Bookeen's blog.

Oh sorry. I'm not familiar with FBReader but when I looked at the docs for it online it didn't mention support for MP.

Bob

I took the list from their web site. I think epub is covered under OEB but perhaps it should be explicit.

I did some poking around on their web site and in the list of changes they do mention .epub added in .8.6c at the end of august. But they do not support the generation of a toc in addition to lack of tables and css. I will update the wiki as well.
