I really like listening to podcasts, and have no problem, with the vox, except for the podcasts on my favourite station, cbc.ca , e.g.

http://www.cbc.ca/ideas/massey-archi...y-of-progress/

I can listen to the podcasts on my netbook, but the audio cuts out on the podcasts, with the vox. (I can listen to the cbc, live, no problem).

Does anyone know why this would be; do I need to download another player?

How do I install dropbox?
I tried to download the android app from the dropbox web site but it won't let me for some unknown reason.
I installed the .adk file in my "download" file when my vox was plugged into my PC, but can't find it on the vox now.

Also-question #2 if I plug the Kobo in & load epubs, where do I put them? Is the root directory ok, if I make a new folder, is that ok too?
I figured out now how to "import them", what a convoluted process!

Don't you install it on your PC and then go there with the Vox using the browser?

you install dropbox on your pc and then on the vox. add your files to the pc dropbox folder and then once your dropbox folder on the Vox has synced, click on the dropbox icon on the vox and find your folder, the new file will be in it.
2- what reading app are you using? I use Aldiko and the epubs can be on the sdcard or the extsd. If you use the Kobo app, perhaps someone else couldanswer that for you...

file should be an "apk" file. Did you use the one in Jefftheworlds best app post?

Use his link for the regular package, they're all very useful, Astro and Dropbox in particular

More a New Hobby than an eReader!

Any thoughts?
That's a great idea, dragoon!
I've been using an Android phone for a year but my new Kobo Vox sure has a whole new set of hoops to jump through! I'm having fun with my new Xmas present but, as I told the wife, it's not so much an eReader as it is a New Hobby! But fortunately there are many helpful fellow hobbyists on this forum.

So, yes, we do need better documentation on this, dragoon. Or, better yet, we need someone like the ghost of Steve Jobs to come back and knock some heads together and make this thing more intuitive and easier to use out of the box!

We really shouldn't have to do all this. Or as someone else posted here, I couldn't, in all conscience recommend a Vox to anyone without lots of time on their hands and an inclination to enjoy fiddling.
