WESTERN
Western is kind of neutral, but not quite since it`s still possible to tell where you`re from. So you might not actually be from the West (but you probably are). If you really want to sound "neutral," learn how to say "stock" and "stalk" differently.

Looks like I need to brush up on my stalking. This should be easy to do in LA.

It seems many MR members don't pronounce the letter "R"

And it makes sense that those in UK and Australia (and Europe) have a "Northeastern" result as that accent sounds closest to the British.

I'm going to guess that you are from Quebec or at least somewhere in Eastern Canada?

Why I think that is that you used ` instead of ' so your Keyboard may have key that does this É

Northeastern - which made sense as ... well ... I was raised in the northeast!

One of the questions confused me - one pair of words rhymed and other didn't really.

Thanks to Hollywood's media juggernaut, my California accent is considered standard American English.

I'm British, from Northern England (West Yorkshire originally), so I come out as north-eastern, unsurprisingly. Absolutely non-rhotic speech (Western England tends to be rhotic, Central and Eastern England non-rhotic), so I'd say "Bah Hahba" not "Bar Harbor".

Born in Cincinnatti, Ohio, moved to New Jersey, moved to Georgia (Atlanta), moved to New Jersery, moved to Georgia (Atlanta), moved to Mississippi, moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and then to Germany where I have lived for the last 29 years.

P.S. When in NJ they called me a Southerner, while in Atlanta, a Northener, in Germany I am an American!

And yes, I have been asked if I'm from Canada - by Americans and Australians. Strange, but I always thought I sounded like the people on TV. Except for the pasta/pahsta thing. . .

I'm not American or Canadian. Not even, in fact, from the Western world, at all. But I gave it a shot and it said:

I got neutral. My 4 year old kept trying to repeat the words I was saying. And so I had him take the test. He got north-eastern, somehow.
