But neither of these work as a replacement for res:///Data to point to external fonts.
Give it a try with res:// instead of res:///. I read someplace where the sample was using res://. Might have been a typo. But it cannot hurt to try.

Are there sites with this kind of fonts ? or do I have to use (amost abuse) google again to find these fonts ?
And how do u use the line height of it, sorry I am not so good in english, does adjust line height mean you can use it a step bigger, the difference between s and m is so big, or do you actually change the font itself ?

I tried your suggestion with res://mnt/sdcard/fonts/... No joy I'm afraid. You got my hopes up there for a moment

Charis SIL
and Fontin are free fonts.

The css attribute line-height specifies the distance between lines of text not the font size. If you want to change the size you need to experiment with the font-size attribute in your css file.

I didn't realize that you can use this variables in the css of the reader. (yes stupid, why not, the book does to)
But then... I guess that the css in the epub overrides them.
So I have to edit all my epubs to remove the font-size (And I did already to remove the Justify.. hate this stretching 6 words over one line...)
Or I have to find out a "one size fits all" c.ss for the reader and remove them all, but then there is no cover displayed... and the epubs looks awfull on my wifes bebook.. she would kill me.. ok that solves a lot of problems too but.... this is harder then I thought.
The difference in the 650 between S and M is to big, that was better in the PRS-T1.... I have to think this over.. thanks for the suggestions.

@Nick_1964,

Have you considered installing the custom firmware, PRSPlus, on your Sonys (not the T1)? This will let you store a set of css files on your Sony and pick the one which suits any particular epub best. So you could store a selection with different custom fonts or different values for font-size.

Depending on the particular epub you may not need to edit it at all.

[Edit: Sorry I just referred back to your earlier post, I see you are already using it.

And it's the best there is,not only for the fonts.. sometimes I accidentally activate the dictonairy (difficult with only one year English lessons) by swiping, and I see in the new version that that now can be put off,and it's in Dutch to, but there are so much wrong epub's outside... the way I want it is: All centenses start at the beginning of the line,so no spacing, Justify off, every new chapter has to begin on a clean page, The chapter name in the middle, little bigger.
I know how to do this, but sometimes they just put the book there and there is more blank space then words, and that is not the way I want it.
And why waste space to put a 1200x1600 cover in it while the display can only show 600x800 and a whole bunch of fonts in the css, while not including one of them in the fonts dir, just assuming that I have lalalalaala.ttf on my reader.
At the end, there are not much books that I didn't had to edit with Sigil.
And a epub translated with a plugin from word are the biggest nightmares of all.

Hi! I'm tempted by the T1, and can even accept the occasional freeze/page-flipping problem, but the inconsistent italics and bold gives me pause.

Have you all found that embedding fonts (or sticking with the Original font) really is the only way to guarantee that the italics and bold will show properly?

Thanks!

Jane12,

I haven't had any freezes yet and I've had my T1 for about a few weeks now. Who knows.

About the fonts, seems like it. Not exactly sure how often it happens but often enough. Closing and re-opening the ePub usually fixes the italics but it wasn't too fun. I ended up buying Amasis and now it just takes a few minutes (for each ePub) to embed the font so it becomes the default.

Eeks.. There was a free way for the Amasis font.. They are in the upgrade files for the Nook, it's not hacking or stealing, I just downloaded the upgrade and there they are.
I don't know if download a support file, free from the website is illegal, they just offer it together with some other fonts.
