Does anyone use those sticker skins on their Kindle?

Actually I just bought the Tropical Blue skin for my K4 NT and I don't see the screen image listed. When I look up skins for Sony Readers it mentioned they come with a screen image. You might want to call them and see. They might not include it with Kindle skins since Kindles require a hack to use them. I bet if the same skin is made for a reader that includes the image they will let you have it. I ordered one a couple of years ago for a Sony reader and i think it merely came with a link from which to download the image off their website.

They definitely do not provide a wallpaper image with Kindle skin purchases. I don't think they will send you one if you ask, either, since it is not available for the device. While they use the same image for multiple devices, they tend to be formatted differently for each device, so you wouldn't get a good fit anyway.

If you're even remotely handy with PC Paint (I'm sure there's something for Mac too), you can crop/resize an image to work on your Kindle. That's what I did.

I think the image size for the K3 is 400x600. DX is 600x800, or something like that.

Screen sizes are 600 x 800 for all 6 inch and 5 inch E Ink screens. I'm not sure how big the screen images are though, but I suspect the same as that is what I used on the Sony readers and on a K3 I had that was hacked to allow personal screen images. It I s not rocket science and if you can get an image from the same skin designed for another reader it would be easy to adapt it. The hardest part would be the hacking of the K3. Not sure if K4 can be hacked yet.

I tried last night but my camera won't make sharp pictures up close without flash and it came out not only blurred but too red/yellow. If I posted it it would not be true. I even tried to photoshop it but was still too red on the photo. But it really is beautiful. Dark wood pattern with chocolate tones, calm and looks very real (matte finish). It will stay put. I may try again one day in daylight.

Did it change the perception of the contrast after putting it on? Did the screen seem lighter and the text darker? I want to get one but I want something almost pure black.

Oh I like the Wicked skin! I think I will go with that. I have to wait for my Birthday this coming month but I am getting a cover and skin so far and hopefully some book money.

I got the matte finish. I think it might make the screen at least seem a bit better, but it certainly isn't a major difference. I wanted a solid dark skin but they don't have one. I bought it to help with the reflection from reading lights. The K4 isn't that bad with its light grey or silver looking bezel, but it does get a bit shiny when using a clip on reading light. The skin has really helped in that regard.

It was a pain to install though. But I'm all thumbs when it comes to such things. Probably a good thing I'm not a brain surgeon!

You can go to DecalGirl and browse to see if they have any but I suspect they won't until a little while after the KT is released.

I only applied the front skin as I use my K4 in a cover. The skin is a bit paper-like and vinyl-like. Kind of like contact paper used on pantry shelves.
