I'm a big fan of Google books, but I'm not a fan of their lousy OCR. So I tend to read them in PDF format. I love how the prs-t1 can scroll half a page at a time in landscape mode when you select the "fit to width" option. This makes most pdfs completely readable. But when I use Briss to manually crop a pdf before hand, the fit to width option doesn't really fit to width. For some reason, it leaves some grey space on each side.

Also, on the rooted t1, you can add EbookDroid which is a pretty good pdf reader for Google books in portrait mode.

For large pdfs the t1 is inadequate, but for older books scanned by Google it does a fine job.
