Is that Amazon's choice or Zinio's? Kobo is in the Amazon store and that directly competes with the kindle app.

If the Nook Color 2 opens up the Android market and supports more video formats, advantage Nook color.

I haven't read anything from any of those developers mentioning submitting/trying to submit/getting rejected from the Amazon App Store (unlike the Apple App Store, where we get reports of anything of the slightest controversy )

This of course, may all change once (if) there becomes a compelling reason to be on the Amazon App Store as well as the Google Market.

Someone mentioned that Amazon was playing catch up. I don't think so. I believe that they were in for the long haul and have been prepping for this launch. First add the Cloud player and mp3 store with cloud storage. Second add the android app store with free paid app of the day. Thirdly Amazon prime players get Amazon instant videos free. They are just priming the market for a move that should give them a great market share. Seeking to slam dunk a winner and take a large part of the market from B&N. They would be in fat city if they managed to snag Netflix as some are speculating. (cnet.com)

I'm quite pleased with this on price, as without the cover CD I'm paying nearly £3 less for each issue (and I can usually dig out the music through my Napster subscription if I fancy it anyway).

That's a direct switch to digital for me for a magazine I've been buying most months for the last three years in print. I can see myself getting a sub to New Scientist through Zinio as well if the Touchpad app hits the mark.

FYI, Zinio app is available in the HP App Catalog for TouchPad WebOS.

I don't have an account, as of yet, but took a quick look. I could only zoom in landscape mode, loading and rendering took longer than expected.

*edit * It seems that not all subscriptions are available on the Touchpad, i.e. NatGeo
