Lately I've been reading slower (for me) book than during the first six months of the year. I've also got my new computer on Monday so I've been messing around with that. According to GoodReads I'm still 18 books ahead of schedule, tonight I'm hoping to finish number 86 so I'm not too worried.

Even if I wouldn't make the 100 books I wouldn't mind, I was just curious how many books I read in a year.

You guys are pure evil.. got me hooked to Plants vs Zombies. Its chrome browser now and my e-reader has already started complaining.
Is this thread about knowing new ways to get distracted from reading?

Thanks, I found the free version. Played a game for a few minutes but lost interest. I'm not a gamer by any stretch.

True that! If this had been a real summer, I would have been found in the hammock every weekend, reading. As it is, today was the very first real summer day that allowed for hammock laying...

You think that's slow? I wish I could read 38 books in a year.

In a good month I might finish two, which equates to 24 in the year. But most months are not that 'good', so I really only read 12-15 a year.

Take that!

I reckon I average a book per week, so about 50 per year. I am quite a fast reader, but it's a question of RL and reading lots of other stuff. I read a lot of news and news analysis and I read magazines. Some of them, such as The Economist and New Scientist take up a lot of time. I usually end up with about four unread editions and then have a mad catch-up.

I think I'll make it this year... the only thing that slows me down is when I read a string of boring books.

gee wiz! couldn't you....maybe...quit reading the boring ones instead of finishing them and maybe read a 'string of' non-boring ones instead?

I didn't set a formal goal; and 100 is beyond my capabilities. But since getting an erader in Nov 2009, I have been reading something on pace to 50 books a year. I've written 30ish reviews so far (most posted here or at Goodreads), so I know I've read that many! I must be on track for 50 or 60. Mainly, I am reading new authors and many of these write series ... so I'll have an endless number of choices for "repeats" next year.

My goal is twelve books a month. I am now ten books behind. I was fine up until June, but the last couple of months have been busier than usual.
