I have an Industriell cover on my Nook Color and noticed some very slight scuffing of the device's front fascia (from the spongy synthetic suede lining) after a couple of weeks. I put a vinyl skin on to prevent further damage. I don't know whether a Nook Touch would be similarly affected though. The cover works well otherwise - it's compact, easy to clean, and folds back nicely - but I'd probably get something else if I had to do it again.

Hi kym, LOL. I do that too. I like the Industriell covers very much, both the classic and Easel/flip model, but have to make a Cornelian choice because can't afford to buy two covers. I think I have more need for a cover that would give me the feel of holding a book but I have to think about it some more. I have come to a partial conclusion that I prefer the hooks system (two-point from B&N or four-point from M-Edge called 'Leather Molded Mounting System') because it is less cumbersome and more elegant in my opinion, than the photo corners/edge straps system. Thus, with M-Edge in the Go Jacket style, I'm left only with either red or pink color because the Carbon Fiber model is with the straps system .

To all who have the B&N new mounting system for the Nook Touch, could you please tell me if you feel it is sturdy enough? The Nook Touch has four small notches at its corners to attach paraphernalia to it and it does seem odd to me that B&N designed a mounting system latching only on two points of the device while M-Edge opted for a more logical four-point system. B&N must have a very astute system and probably the most discreet of all attaching systems out there but I wonder if it can withstand the test of time.

Hi wayrad, this is indeed upsetting . I hope the scuffing was only on the frame. One would think that a micro-suede interior lining would on the contrary prevent abrasion. I too would have a problem trusting such a cover if the same experience happens to me. Do you think it could come from some strayed hard dust particles that have attached themselves to the micro-suede? Or, instead the fabric has small irregularities that caused the scraping?

Yes, it was just a couple of spots on the frame above the screen. Really it was just a bit shiny ("polished" looking) there - it bothered me, but might not bother someone else, since it took a good light to see it. I couldn't feel any grit in the "suede" lining, but it seems a bit harsher and "grippier" than real suede or sueded cloth would be, and there's some play in the front cover so it can move sideways against the Nook's plastic frame. I was mostly carrying it in the laptop pocket of a backpack (with mainly soft things inside the main compartment).

I wouldn't have expected there to be scuffing, and haven't seen anybody else mention it. So it's fairly puzzling, but it definitely started after I got that cover.

P.S. I don't think about it any more now that I have my nice textured carbon-fiber Skinit on there.

re: wayrad, It's great you found a skin that works for you Something like that would have bothered me to no end. I guess scuffing can happen and it's definitely a risk to bear in mind with open sides covers as opposed to a closed sleeve or zippered cover (like the Executive cover from M-Edge where there is a zipper to close the cover and completely secure the e-Reader inside), therefore the protection can only work up to a certain point only.

lulalullah,
My Go Jacket has finally arrived and I am very happy with it. It feels good in hand and even though it uses the corner mounting system it holds the Nook in place very sturdily. I have not noticed any marks on my simple touch from the Industriell case and have it on since my Barnes first got them in stock.

Hi graff_king,
Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad you like your cover How is it compare to the Industriell you have?
I guess the problem wayrad encountered with the scuffing could be an isolated incident and fortunately, concerned the frame of the Nook color and not the screen. I think this could be of a lesser annoyance or worry for the Nouch Touch and as long as it does not happen on the screen, because the Touch has a rubber frame, a more forgiving material.

I like the feel of the Go Jacket. It is definitely a different feel than the Industriell. I think the scuffing was an isolated incident seeing as I have one of their cases on my Nook Color and haven't had any rubbing issue. The case feels solid and folds back nicely like a book cover. The Touch definitely feels more secure in the M-edge case than the Industriell

Hi,
Could you share some pictures of how the mounting systems look on the covers please? Would be interesting to see that as well as how thick the covers are with the reader in them.
Am I the only having a hard time finding real world photos of the covers?
