I remember when you didn't need a microwave to make popcorn.

I remember wooden tennis rackets.

I remember watching the Three Stooges while we waited for our pizza at Straw Hat -- and we got straw hats too (well, maybe it was styrofoam).

I remember taking my brother's wagon door-to-door to our neighbors asking if they had any bottles they didn't want - and we'd make out like bandits! (Can you actually imagine going door-to-door today, basically asking your neighbors to give you money?!)
I can't, but I imagine I'll be doing that with my kids one of these days. Michigan has $0.10 deposits on bottles and cans and every now and then some group will have a fundraiser to go door-to-door and collect bottles and cans to turn in for the deposit refund.

I can't imagine doing it just to do it though.

I remember going to the drive-in with my parents to watch original The Fox and the Hound animated movie. (I just bought the Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack for it last week. )

(That theater is long gone and we are now down to one drive in movie theater in our area. We talked about taking the kids, but never got around to it this summer. )

I remember "99 cents for a three course meal." It consisted of a Mac'burger, a bag of fries and a shake.

Oh I have a story about this! This must have been "reissued" by Disney when I was about three or four. Mom and Dad took me to see it. Keep in mind that I only weighed 4 lbs when I was born and my growth never did catch up, so I'm this little tiny thing that as my mom used to put it "didn't even look like you should be walking". So we're walking out of the theater and Mom asks me, "Well, how did you like the movie?" and my reply? "It was ok, but I didn't like that damned dragon!" eliciting gasps from the people near us and snorts of laughter from my dad, who always griped at my mother for using such language around me... *grin*. Remember, this was somewhere around 1969.

Anyway, as for what I remember: I remember when kids had manners or if they didn't, they were forcibly instilled. One of my son's little girlfriends decided that yesterday was a good day to mouth off at me. I did call her on it, but doubt I managed to improve anything and probably embarrassed the snot out of my son in the process. She's already got the "I know everything and I don't have to listen to you" attitude that seems prevalent among teens these days.

We had 2 stations that came in good, 1 that came in a little fuzzy, and 1 that came in if I held on to the antenna.

I remember when Gilligan's Island, The Brady Bunch, and The Beverly Hillbillies were the only options besides watching Soaps.

Oh yeah, I remember when they had Soaps.
