Ahh thanks Sarah. Does your unit play video and do you have the browser crashes?

Mine arrived incredibly fast and in great shape! Original box, open with some fingerprints. Thanks Gunner for the heads up on this deal. Pretty much since the beginning, my first EE had some sort of short/connection problem in the charging socket that caused it to flicker and not charge reliably. Entourage asked me to send it in to get it looked at, but unfortunately they closed too quickly to get it fixed.

I got this one for less than it would cost to fix my other one! I am also thrilled to find that this one does not seem to have the blasted hibernation problem my original one suffered from. So happy!

Just a suggestion with your old one - take it to somewhere that repairs notebook computers and get them to look at it. Fixing duff power connector sockets is a standard item - we have at least one a week to fix.

Thanks for the suggestion ivanjt! The one place I went to made it out to be a big and expensive deal to fix. They scared me off a bit. But if you said it's a fairly standard procedure (which it seems like it should be) I'll keep looking for a place that knows how to manage this sort of thing. I would love to have both in top shape!

The only thing that could be a little problem is the actual socket itself - not a standard notebook size but they are available, at least over here in Europe.

To open the unit it appears to be 4 screws only and a little judicious unclipping and that's it. It should only take 5 min to unsolder the old socket and solder on the new. It is the sort of job I would trust to almost anyone that can repair circuit boards - I say almost because I know some people that are excellent with the repairs but I wouldn't let them open anything.

Sounds do-able, especially with your advice. Thanks!

You know, I still haven't heard from that seller. I think I've been pretty patient to. Still having browser crashing. Some days its not so bad and others it does it all the time.. Good side is I don't see to have the hibernation problem..though I'd rather have it then the browser crashing hehe..
