^^ thanks for the pic.

Indeed, the cord is so nice and thin because the plastic/rubber sheath used is thin and flexible. Clearly an issue as I have not ever seen that kind of deterioration before on any USB cord.

At least Amazon is sorta taking care of this, right?

mine seems to not connect if it isn't "up".

If I flip the kindle over then it's fine..I don't know if it's a interior thing or a exterior thing...either way replacements are cheap enough
