I imagine that the upgrade would add wi-fi to the 350 and 650 models. I'm hoping for a higher resolution Pearl screen on the new models, like on the Iriver Story HD:

The HD screen using in the iRiver HD is not made by eink. LG makes the HD screen. LG made the Viplex screen that faded in the sunlight. So these need to be tested before I would want Sony to use them given LG's history.

Thanks for the info. I thought that it was just the same Pearl screen that we've been seeing, but with a higher res.

Though if this screen is good and works well, I can see it being used instead of the 600x800 panel.
