I's sure like to get into the 1.9.6 beta - the lack of margin control on side-loaded books is a real issue for me.

EldRick: 1.9.5 should allow you to adjust margins on sideload e-pubs. Having said that, I know there are a few that due to the formatting in the e-pub don't seem to be over-rideable (I have some RTF files converted to e-pub with Calibre that are like this). Guttenberg e-pubs let you change margins. There was a thread somewhere about something to change in the CSS file to let you get around that.

@EldRick, I haven't had any problems adjusting marigins on sideloaded ePubs in 1.9.5 either. robko is absolutely correct that it could be a formatting issue caused by the author/publisher hardcoding margins in the HTML/CSS.

Or you converting the ePubs before you sideload them? Which bookstore did you purchase them at?

The files in question are EPUBs converted by calibre with 0-pixel margin setting. On the Nook Touch, this works well - the minimum margin setting winds up at about 2mm.

What setting should I use in calibre to leave the margins adjustable on the KT without manual editing?

(I'd still like to get into the beta program, if it still exists.)

I'm using non-converted ePubs that I sideloaded and the margins are fully adjustable. These are mostly ePubs I had previously purchased from the Sony Store. I stripped the DRM, but didn't convert them so whatever default was set for margins seems to work.

Send a PM to the OP about beta testing. That is how I got accepted into it. You will need a gmail address because they use Google Groups, so include your gmail address in the PM.
