Someone must have run into software that told them "private dick" was an offensive term.
Ah! You know, I read that description myself, but all I could think of was Richard Diamond--never made the connection with the word dick.

Some very good stuff there.

I should probably warn that

Quote:
1.19 - 1 Everything But Freedom [Darkover series] [MultiFormat] by Marion Zimmer Bradley
is actually incorporated inside

Quote:
1.36 - 1 Marion Zimmer Bradley's Darkover [Darkover Anthology series #11] [MultiFormat] by Marion Zimmer Bradley & Elisabeth Waters
Almost all of MZB's solo Darkover stories (minus 1) can be found inside that, and many of her solo non-Darkover stories are collected inside the two other collections, so you kind of have to watch out for that.

Same caveat applies to Mercedes Lackey's FW short stories, many of which can be found in the Werehunter and Fiddler Fair anthologies in the Baen Free Library, and in the Oathblood collection from DAW books.

And

Quote:
3.38 - 1 Digital Domains: A Decade of Science Fiction & Fantasy [MultiFormat] by Ellen Datlow
happens to be available DRM-free for Kindle for 99 cents US at the moment.

But aside from that, a really good price for a nice-looking haul.

Thanks for the info. I did check some books against Amazon, but if I only made two poor purchases out of 103, I'm very pleased.

Hey - I can take one away from my TBR pile! So my 2011 stats now look like this:

Ebooks read : 77
Ebooks removed for other reasons : 19
Ebooks added to TBR pile: 142
TBR now: 454

Time to finish based on 2010 and 2011 reading speed: Just over two and a half years. If I don't buy any more books, I might finish my TBR pile sometime in early 2014!

Mind you, my track record on not buying ebooks is pretty poor!

Nice to have one last blast of the old Fictionwise.

Thanks. I'm starting a new cart--I keep finding intriguing titles; I just noticed a Mignon G. Eberhart/Grantland Rice novel: Murder at Madison Square Garden.

Plus I found Shadow of the Dahlia, by Jack Bludis, which I've been tempted to buy in the past but was put off by the $7.99 price elsewhere--at FW it's only $1.99 before the coupon.

Thanks, that reminded me to check the tools package I already had, and I see that there's even a plug-in for Calibre. Who knew?

So I'm $40 poorer, but I did get 18 books for that. I was tempted by a couple of Secure Ereader format books, but didn't want to give FW my cc(brother's was hacked just a couple of weeks ago and it wasn't until a few days ago that the cc company credited his money back to him.) so those didn't get bought. 18 should still keep me busy, thanks again for posting the code.

Catlady - Oooh the Eberhart one looks good - thanks.

I was going to mention Renaissance but started looking through their books and it looked like only their erotic books were left. Glad you found their mysteries.

I picked up more of Lee Martin's Deb Ralston Series (Detective genre). Anyone have any suspense/thriller recommendations?

My planned cart is now smaller than it was going to be, since it looks like E-Reads is currently in the process of repricing some of its older books and the changes have not all filtered back to FW yet.

Mind you, it's mostly still cheaper with coupon at the old prices than in the other stores at the new lower prices, but it'll be even cheaper still should FW pricedrop and have another good coupon over the next few months (provided they last that long). And it'll take me ages to get around to reading most of this anyway.

I will be getting the all stuff that's been list-price-matched, just to encourage them to match the rest.

Easiest way to check is to pick an author you're interested in and list all their works at FW and Amazon respectively. Those Aaron Elkins mysteries I was thinking of getting have gone from 9.99 at FW to 3.99 list at Amazon, with only about two of them dropped to the 3.99 price at FW.
