It works on mine. I'm not rooted, but I I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Honestly, that plugboard is one of my favorite things about Calibre.

Sorry to be a bother, but would you mind posting a screen shot of what the plugboard entries are supposed to look like? There are several fields that must be manipulated, and I've never used plugboards before. Thank you so much.

EDIT: Never mind, I figured it out. The only problem is that it seems to only work when moving files the first time. It doesn't seem to update the series metadata on books already on the device. I had to remove them and re-upload them after making the plugboard change. But it's great either way, thanks!

I use a Calibre plugboard to prepend the series name to the title when transferring. That seems to be enough organization for me with ~1400 books.
I would like to know how to do this.....Any steps for novice?

I'm not going to be one of those rude folk who say "this is the wrong forum for that question -- why don't you go to the "Calibre" forum and ask".

Actually, I started this response in order to say "Yeah, I'd like to know, too. I've looked at it, but... etc". Then I realized I should just go to the Calibre forum and look for answers, so I thot I'd pass that suggestion on, as well.

But if anyone wants to give details on this thread, it would sure make things easier, lol.

Here's what I have in calibre when sending books on my Nook Color.

Prefrences > Plugboard

Format : epub
Device : NOOK COLOR

First line on the right :
First field : {author_sort}
Destination field : authors

Second line :
First field : {series:|| }{series_index:0>2s|| - }{title} ({tags})
Destination field : title

Save

So, about the second line :
- IF a book is part of a serie, display serie name serie index title
- If not, display only the title

(Note that I also display the tags at the end, between parenthesis, but you don't have to.)

See the screenshot attached. It's in french but you get the idea.
