Perhaps Onyx Europe can explain this lack of interest to us.
I dont know where that notion came from. Onyx has most certainly not discontinued its 6" models.

As for why the newest 6" model with the Pearl display isnt available outside of Russia- my understanding is they aren't available to us because of the demand in Russia has allowed the distributor there to buy up the whole first production. Unless the other distributors can afford to buy a large number of the next run they will most likely go to Russia again.

As it stand "we" need to direct our resources at the M90..

While the support is fine, the 9.7" screen is to small to display a full page of a standard PDF at a comfortable to read point size.

Someone needs to come out with a 12" or so eInk device (with a touch screen which does not affect contrast and does not need a stylus... ).

I've been wanting an A4 sized eInk display for quite some time. Would be perfect for textbooks, manuals, etc.

The KNO I kno is dead as hardware.

Not a great loss, since it had abysmal battery life. Also, it was not eInk....

once an humorless ass always a humorless ass. Dead is relative don't you think? Are you working for Intel and can offer a link to support your claim? Otherwise it's WAG on your part. They will be coming and will be using the tech developed for the Kno.

Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt...

Actually those articles and others support grumpys assertion that it is a relative statement. The Company Kno will not be making hardware, but will continue working on refining the software, while Intel will be making hardware that it will shop around looking for OEM partners.

Unless you can find a quote from Intel saying they have stopped working on Kno reference hardware altogether...

According to Intel's own press release on their investment:

"SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 8, 2011 – Intel Capital, Intel Corporation's global investment organization, today announced a $20 million investment in Kno Inc., an education software company. The investment is part of a $30 million Series-C round led by Intel Capital, which includes participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Advance Publications, First Round Capital, FLOODGATE and SV Angels. Kno will use the funding to develop its innovative educational software solutions for multiple platforms, including Intel® architecture."

That certainly doesn't sound very much like they're still working on some specialized hardware. Based on the news surrounding Kno and Intel's investment in them, hoping for Kno's original platform design is pretty far out speculative at best. Everything related to this investment has Kno working on porting their software to multiple platforms, and this investment release would hardly lead anyone to believe specialized hardware was still being seriously developed. If it turns out to be so, great. But there aren't too many folks in the industry who see Kno's hardware as anything but vaporware at the moment.
