I own an Ipad and love it. One reason I do not read is simple too heavy to hold for long periods of time. The cover I use is fairly heavy. I am sure others have noticed this weight issue?

I read on mine for hours at a time with no problem. I'm in dimly lit rooms FAR more than brightly lit rooms when I'm reading. The iPad is fantastic for reading -- for me.

Sure. Its a lot heavier than my nook, but I usually prop it up and I'm fine. I don't think it is really heavier than a hardcover book and I've read tons of those.
