how long do you have to stare at the Kindle 3 before it becomes the most amazing piece of technology known to man?

It's screen is either head and shoulders above the nook or it isn't, and trust me it isnt'.

You don't need anymore than just a few minutes to see.
I just said that you have to spend some time reading on them both.
That's not real life experience?!?

Are we talking about the K3? I thought we are discussing pearl vs. non-pearl screens, not readers per se.
I have both types of screens, so have spent quite a lot of time with them.
To me, it is quite an improvement with pearl eink.

You really seem to have something against kindles generally.
I'm only saying that pearl is significantly better, not-
"..the most amazing piece of technology known to man?"

Now don't get me wrong the Pearl Screen is a nice improvment but the nooks screen is on par with it. No doubt.
I agree that it's not going to 'rock your world' or anything.
I mean, eink is eink. It's great any way you slice it and really can't get that much better IMHO.

To me it was more than just the contrast, but I guess that is the selling point of pearl. But the kindle looks like the words are right up on top of the device screen. The nook does not. It looks like it is..under a piece of glass. However the nooks creme background is better than the kindles gray.
