I agree with tgnd that it depends on how involved I am in the book, but I will say that since buying my reader last month, there have been no 24 hours periods in which it has not been used. :-)

I usually read anywhere from 1-4 hours depending on homework, work, class, and other commitments. My problem is that if I'm into a book, I will stay up past midnight to finish it and positively drag at work the next day. This is probably the death knell for the book I was trying to read last night. I got home at 9 PM and was really looking forward to the book and was halfway through it from Tuesday night and couldn't concentrate enough on it to stay awake and ended up falling asleep on the couch around 10 PM. I'll return it to the e-library (I love overdrive) and go to the next on my list. If I don't finish a book in 2 sittings or find it interesting enough to want to finish it, then I move on to the next book. I have so many books on my TBR list that it's not worth getting bogged down.

I read as much as I can when I can. If I'm reading one of those "can't put it down" books, I can read during anything. I'll carry it around with me reading a little here and a little there.

Umm... let's put it this way. In Spring 2009, did a survey for my reading habit in 2008...

I figured between eBooks (40%, has since gone to 60-70%), paperbacks & hardbacks (often returned to the store after reading), and library books I would have bought if I had funds...

About $1200 in a year. Easily $800 stayed in my home (e, Pback & selected hb)

I do some proof reading for romance Publishers - and have done as many as 10 eBooks in a month, plus 50-100% that many reading during my commute.

Given the above $ amount, that's why I got into proofing. My 2nd job requires me to be awake & alert, and most of my reading $ was related to that. Proofing kills 2 birds - I stay awake, and "earn" books-as-payment that I want & would have to be selective about due to funds.

I'd like to read more, but I have too many other things which divide my time: roasting coffee, making espresso, straight-razor shaving, wife. At my best a few years ago, I read about 3 books a month; 4 was the most. Now I probably read 2.

I misread this for a moment as "straight-razor shaving my wife". I guess that would be quite time-consuming.
