For me it's a gold bracelet (with little elephants) I got for my birthday when I was 5 or 6. I have pictures from elementary school where I'm wearing that bracelet. The lock is broken now so I haven't worn it for quite some time, but I'm planning on getting it repaired and start wearing it again.

I don't think I have anything really old. 2 immigrations left me only with necessary stuff.
Maybe, the oldest item in my possession is triangle that I had when I was 12-14 years old. Don't know how it survived.
Pictures I have taken and processed manually in a bathroom when I was ..12-14 years old?
Cannot think of anything else.

While I do keep a lot of stuff, most of it isn't really dear to me. But my stuffed animals go with me wherever I go. I should have a picture of me somewhere, where I'm all packed to go for a year to the US as an exchange student. You couldn't find my bag amongst all those stuffed animals I had managed to tie to it (and I would only be gone for a year!)

Wow!! Is it a musical triangle? It was always a lifetime dream of mine to be the triangle player in a big national orchestra performing at Carnegie Hall!

Golly, you're lucky. My mother confiscated all of mine when she found them under my bed...

Could be the pictures weren't of the same subject, anything my mother found under the bed was to be considered headed to the bin, naughty or nice!

One thing that my family lost because of the immigration I regret. From a pure aesthetic point of view. Our library.
I have never visited a library in my home town when I was in a school. I had everything at home and more. My classmates were borrowing books from our "library", if my father trusted them to look well after the books.
We had 4.000 volumes roughly, not counting numerous art albums and art books that my father was a big fan of.
We took only a fraction (about 700 volumes to Israel), but hard life, house moves, climate, health deterioration of my parents resulted that the books are now in a bad condition and there is nobody to inherit them anyway.

Heh. I am talking to a musician
No, of course now. It is only a wooden triangle for drawing with 19cm catheti.

Confiscated pics she found under your bed? We didn't misunderstand each other, did we?

I came to Australia in 1972 with 2 suitcases so I don't have a lot of old stuff. Robberies removed all the jewellery over the years.

However, I still have the towel that I used at high school for showers after sport lessons.

Showers after sports in high school? Wow! You folks probably washed your gym clothes too, right? You sure didn't go to my high school!

The Boy's Locker room was officially classified as a bio-hazard!

I hated showers after sport and always tried to get in and out quick before the teacher got inside. She'd send you back in if she thought you weren't wet enough.

My favourite year was the one we were short of space and the changing room became a class's home room. We had to change in the toilets - which of course had no showers.

I went to high school in a small town in rural Lincolnshire in England in the 60's. I never thought we were the leading edge in anything - quite the opposite.
