After using the super glitchy Nook Color, I have no legitimate complaints about my K3 LOL.
I would like to have personal screensavers without having to hack it though. |

omg, i've been thinking and thinking and... nothing! absolutely nothing!
i'm handy with conversions so epub doesn't bother me. i don't really buy from sony and b&n... because i can't, or rather they won't let me - which is one thing i'd change in god mode but it's got nothing to do with the device itself. and other shops not restricted to one particular device offer a range of formats (which i edit anyway...) ok, ok, ok, ok, got one: nicer screensavers without having to jalbreak the thing. twain and bronte are starting to get on my last nerve... ![]() EDIT: like-minded |

The only thing I'd really like is faster/better PDF support. I've got some technical manuals that take forever to load up on a Kindle and one of them takes so long that I've never been able to view it before giving up. The K3 isn't ideal for reading PDFs but it'd still be nice to be able to quickly look at something.
Oh and the Kindle should come with a free pony IMO ![]() |

I don't understand why amazon doesn't let you change your own screen-saver. If you purchased a PC, and Microsoft didn't allow you to change your screesaver people would rightly complain and maybe sue MS.
It is pure arrogance on Amazon's part to think their choices for screen-saver must be liked by everyone. |

![]() I would to like to have sub-collections. Also, I would leave the page turn buttons in their current location but would like them to be touch instead of push. I'm always worried about wearing the buttons out. Neither item is a big deal. I love my K3 as is and would still choose it over all others. |

I'm pretty much format agnostic, so I don't care about that, though as someone mentioned it would be nice if the mobi specification supported a few more formatting options.
I agree with the poster who stated that we should have a variety of "page counting" options. I personally prefer locations, but of course now that I've gotten used to that system and liking it, they've hidden it so I have to push a button. If they ever decide to get hide the status bar too, I'd like the option to show it. So yeah, options. Mine would show the status bar, % and location information if I had that option. Custom screensavers, definitely. I removed all my hacks so I could update. I was worried that since it freezes any existing hacks, a future update could be problematic in ways we can't predict, so I figured it was best to remove them. I'm glad I did it then because they've started pushing the update way sooner than I expected them to. I'm okay for now, but I suspect I'll be tiring of the dead authors again fairly quickly. My message to Amazon was something along the lines of "If this can be implemented with hacks, then your development team can create the same functionality. If they can't, then maybe you should fire them and hire the devs who created the hacks." I was a little nicer than that, though. Make the selections "wrap" the screen so if you go all the way down, the pointer starts over at the top. Never thought I'd use this as an example, but even the Literati does this. Add a "maintenance mode" or something that checks the index folder for any index files that no longer have matching books. As far as the design, I'm really happy with the way it looks and feels. I do wish the bezel was just a smidge different so it wouldn't collect dust/crumbs/whoknowswhat in the corners of the screen. My letters aren't wearing off, but the arrows on the 5-way are looking a little faded, probably because of how much I've played Triple Town. That doesn't really bother me because it's pretty obvious what the directions are without the arrows, but if my letters were wearing I'd be upset. These are all minor issues to me, though. I'm very happy with my Kindle. |

I can see people complaining because it doesn't work properly as they've dumped their entire unresized photo collection in there or the files aren't the correct ratio so they're not full screen etc... |

1. Control over space between lines and paragraphs, indenting, and a "bold" text option.
2. Being able to opt out of all spying activity without giving up on internet connectivity. 3. A quicker way of switching it off. 4. An elastic/velcro strap on the back cover so you can hold it with one hand. 5. 8" screen. |

Dude, that is actually not a bad idea at all ! Just think about all the kids that would buy a Kindle just for the sweet little pony. The Kindle would spead like a vicious virus and take over the world, muahaha !
Here's one more from me: Wouldn't it be cool if you could hook up your Kindle as a second screen to your computer, like for the clipboard, chat window, ect ? Now that would be some really sexy shit. ![]() Anyhow, you guys have posted some cool suggestions so far. ![]() Last edited by Kenneth_irl; 02-17-2011 at 03:05 PM. |

"Serena;1399954]Screens is definitely not that hard to do, PocketBook does that already"
Yeah I always figure how many screens there are to an ebook when I begin reading it for the first time. Basically just divide the locations/page into the total locations in the book. Obviously it might be thrown off some if there are many graphics, but not all that tough. I never found locations to be even remotely useful while reading. Currently I use the percentage figure to see how much of the book I have left. And most of the time while actually reading I don't pay any attention to any of the numbers. I just read! I really think giving us a screen count is the most meaningful figure in a digital reading environment. |

I'd like to see ePub and library books support. Mobi format is pretty old and dated. Having a better format allows publishers to not have to code for the lowest common denominator. We would get better looking books. Imagine if the web were still stuck with HTML 2, circa 1994.
