I will claim four people. There is a fifth that I started on the road a year or so ago by sending her a link to the Kindle at Amazon. Neither of us had heard of them at that time. However, as she beat me in buying an ebook reader, I don't think I can claim her as a personal victory

I wonder how many of you who claim you have converted others, could say that they actually read ebooks. Not just bought the ebook readers and only read an occasional ebook now and then if at all.

I have a growing number of ebook enthusiasts around me now. So far six of them have purchased ereaders after talking to me about the best way to read ebooks.

Two, if I don't count my husband. The first was way back at the PDA time. I always read electronically in the train and I had a collegue who was intrigued. He finally also bought a PDA (and I know he bought a Sony 700 later, even though I lost contact with him after I changed bosses).
The second is my mother, why I apparently impressed with my readers when I was there with christmas last year (2009, that is). She now has a Sony 650. |

Only my wife, and even she still reads more pbooks than ebooks. Other than that, nobody. I know other people with readers, but they don't have them because of me.

Bold text is used to emphasize words or phrases for impact. Bolding entire posts has always come across to me as saying "my point is more important than everyone else's" (even if I know you don't mean it that way)

Okay I'll quit. I've pretty much always use bold print on boards & e-mails, but this is the only place it has been an issue.

If you were to send email to me all in bold, I would hint that it is a sign of bad taste ![]() On other forums on rare occasions some members always use bold. I usually ignore what they write because my eyes are watering and it is unpleasant. Over here, some members sometimes use bold+many different colours+italics all in one huge heap of letters (that's how I consider this type of posts). Unpleasant. Look around. How many members do it? Check this topic. Don't take it personally. Stop. Reflect. Maybe...maybe you might reconsider, instead of taking offence at absolutely harmless remark. |

Astra I said I would quit & I did. I realize everyone has their opinions on this, I just stated mine. I guess I didn't think about needing to conform to what everyone else does since we have been given the options of font size , boldness & colors. I like getting creative. That was all that it was about. I quit using my favorite color & now the boldness.
So let's let it drop okay? ![]() |

I bought the Sony PRS600 for my husband - he didn't use it so I tried it and loved it. Bought him a KOBO thinking that would be easier for him....have since given that to my son. Bought a PRS600 for my daughter in Thailand who absolutely loves it. Bought another KOBO for my other daughter - who absolutely loves it. Bought the PRS650 for myself and keeping the PRS600 as a spare. My sister saw the PRS600 and bought one a couple of months later. My brother saw it and got the PRS650 at Christmas, as well as another sister. Oh...and a friend at work saw mine and got the PRS650 for Christmas as well.
