No. I can't think of anyone I know. Even people who are not tech savvy or hate computers, have been on the internet at some point.

*edit*
wait! I just thought of someone I know who as never used the internet. In fact he's one of the two people pictured in my avatar!

I'll be a part of the "know no one who hasn't at least used the internet" crowd. Even my 4 year nephew and 2 year old niece play preschool games now and sat on my sister's lap while she played WOW with her husband from the time they were infants. But then our family got into the whole online thing in the days of the BBS so for the longest time we were the tech support of the neighborhood, a thing that has continued into my current job. Our IT guy is in the Caribbean and so if anyone has a tech-related question in the office that needs an immediate answer, they ask me and I take a break from my real job to find the answer. My 70-something year old grandmother does genealogy, online games, and is working on an online Masters in History right now. Grandpa is rather less into it though and while he has an email account and has probably played solitaire, computers are really not his thing.

As an earlier poster mentioned, I wonder how I would spend my time without spending so much on it on computer.

I had to teach my father (born in '49) a few years ago how to use a mouse. He still double-clicks a lot of times where a single click would suffice, but he can use email and internet.

The only one I know who I know for certain has never used a computer, let alone the internet, is my grandfather, who is 93. (My other grandfather has a computer. I'm not entirely sure about internet, though, there.)

I would like to tell you a little story if I may.

When I was remarried eight years ago, we bought a townhouse in a golfing estate. I hate golf, but my hubby would meet his friends and they would have a terrific time. I used to do Latin-American dancing, but my hubby hates dancing. So, I thought that I was not going to vegetate: did yoga, meditation, solo cards, and make-up course, and then decided to buy myself a computer. To accompany this splurge, I bought 'Computers for Dummies'. This Dummy couldn't make head-nor-tail out of it. So I invested in a book called Visual Computer Lessons. Now I at least could switch on the darned thing without the trepidation that an almighty blast was going to fill the room.

Eventually managed to get online, and I am still learning. I wasn't going to ask my new hubby to teach me (Here be Dragons) as I was not yet at the stage where I could let him know what a Dummy he had married.

No one that I know in my age group uses computers. I think that's a shame.
I have family dispersed all around the world, and I can speak to them on Skype, or send emails.

There is a fear that people will think that you are a Dummy if you are not a quick learner. Reassure them.

Just my two cents worth.

I am seventy-four.

Cheers

Congratulations, learning to use a computer is no easy feat. I wish my parents would learn, it would certainly help cut our phone bills down.

I used computers for many years before most people did, but I was late with the internet: I didn't get online until 1996.

My father has never used the Web, or email either. I bought him a cell phone, but he doesn't use that. Never had a credit card either. He'll use a photocopier though.

I have trouble with the universal remote.

The reality is that I simply don't find technology, the computer, or the Internet all that interesting. I have trouble with the remote because I never turn on TV so I never figured out how to use the remote to do so. I'd rather read a book.

Similarly, except for MR I am not part of any "social" online group -- I have never been to Facebook or MySpace or any similar site, for example.

I use my computer and the Internet as work tools, nothing more (again, except for MR).

I remember trying to teach my dad how to use the mouse! That was a challenge! He was in his mid-70s at the time. He never could get the hang of how to double-click (waited too long between the clicks). He gave up after a short time and continued to keep all his records written on paper.

I do have several elderly neighbors who have never used a computer. They are in their 80s and 90s.

I don't watch a lot of tv myself, so I understand that. The internet, though -- it is endlessly interesting to me. How can it not be? Just tonight I researched giving sweet potatoes to cats to relieve constipation , the best route to an appointment across town at noon tomorrow, and checked on the weather in various parts of the globe. I looked up a couple of recipes this morning and paid some bills. I love having so much knowledge at my fingertips -- it makes me giddy! Back on topic, though, I don't think I know anybody who hasn't been on the internet. I know people who don't own computers, but even they have used the internet at some point.

My mother has seen the internet at a friend's house but has never used it. The trouble I had getting her to use an answering machine was enough for me. I'm not about to show her how to point and click. She still writes me letters on paper, and snail mails them to me! It's rather nice to get letters, I'll miss them when she's gone.
