I think this issue has been correctly addressed with the P&R subforum, which you don't even see unless you are a "hardened debater" (whatever that means), in addition to the "ignore user" and "ignore thread" options.
But as the saying goes, "He who leaves without being kicked out, comes back without being called", so I think (and hope) we will see some of them back in the near future.

I've voluntarily left forums (political) before over disputes with the mods. With me though; once I leave, I never go back. I'm gone for good.

One would have thought so, but unfortunately tempers get a little high in the device forums as to whether one is better than another.
