Ugh. Suits might be the most absurd depiction of big law firm life ever. And that's really saying something. The idea of having associates at a big firm work for one single partner is just... freaking absurd. It's the opposite of my experience and that of every classmate and colleague I've ever met. (And nobody hires you without getting a certified copy of your final transcript, either.)

Anyway. Grisham sets some of his books in the world of big-firm law -- The Associate is the one that sticks out the most. I liked that book until the ending, when it sort of stopped rather than concluded.

I don't really expect realism in TV legal dramas anymore. I would have been fine with Suits even if they put the associates names in a sorting hat and Mike went to Gryffindor
What I do like is that the episodes don't always culminate in a trial and a dramatic closing statement from the heroes. I was hoping there were books that handled legal drama the same way.

I like the novels of Nancy Kopp. They all involve the law (she is/was a lawyer herself) and are well written. So far there are 5 of them. I have them in paperback, and all signed to me by the author herself.

Anyway, I've been watching "Suits" and working my way through "Damages" and was wondering if there's a book or even a TV series/movie that concentrated more on corporate law.

Try "Money to Burn" by legal thriller writer James Grippando.
