I'm going to be playing around with prices some, to try to find the best level. I don't know if you want to mess around with keeping up with that. Might be best either to remove the prices, or to add a disclaimer such as, "prices subject to change."

if you don't mind letting me know of price changes by email i will be happy to update them for you. Unfortunately, having had no previous experience with this, I did not think to include a misc comments inout in the database.

Yes for some cases keeping prices updated might be quite a lot of work.

But, what exactly do you envisage for the "catalog" a year or two down the road ?

It's quite useful now by pointing out to me several sources of DRM-free books I didn't know of but what happens if it catches on and every Smashwords (say) author asks to be included ?

You could end up as the hard worked editor of _DRM-free Books in Electrons_ (cf Books in Print).

I noted that in the entry for Lois McMaster Bujold I
don't see the omnibus Miles, Mutants and Microbes nor Memory and the
contents of the omnibuses are given by number with no key. There are at
least 23 DRM-free Bujold books available from Baen and Fictionwise.

Series lists are quite useful but there are good lists in Wikipedia with additional information and the Open Library project which includes ebooks.

Suggestions for a logical way forward ?

@Egret: If you click on the ebook link for either Miles, Mutants and Microbes or Miles errant, it takes you to http://www.webscription.net/p-278-miles-errant.aspx which is for miles errant so I did not include it. Also there is no ebook link for memory on baen. just a book link.

Well, as for a way forward I will just keep adding books as best I can trying to balance between different sources and genre keeping the best variety I can manage. I don't expect to cover everything but as it grows I hope it becomes a useful resource. Its more for people who dont have much of an idea where to look for drm free ebooks. To make sites that carry drm free ebooks more visible so people dont associate drm free with only public domain books but see it as a possibility for most books published in future.

We will soon put a simple form so users can add drm free ebooks to the database but i will still have to check (approve the submission) to make sure only drm free ebooks get added.

I have been using wiki for the series lists but it gets complicated sometimes because in SF series often the internal chronological order differs from the chronology of publication dates and then there are often short stories (in the same universe as the series of novels) and omnibuses that further complicate matters.

Do you have any suggestions for a more efficient approach? I will probably in time have a feedback section like calibres bug tracker so people can inform me if i have made any mistakes or if some information like prices have changed. This will also probably be how people will be able to submit suggestions for books to be added to the database.

Hi Krittika -- I have a new book to add to your listing of my SF novels. Just out:

Dragon Space: A Star Rigger Omnibus
(containing Dragons in the Stars and Dragon Rigger)

SW: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/56423
Kindle: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004YEZ53U
Nook: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/boo...=2940012515858

It's currently at $5.99, DRM-free in all three stores.
