Triple Town is really great actually. It was designed specifically for the kindle and plays sort of like a single player tile-laying board game but with the spirit of Tetris. The developer wrote a blog post on the creation of the game which I found really interesting.

The classics! Zork, the grand-daddy interactive fiction/ Text adventure https://i.imgur.com/eMJRL6N.jpg and Nethack, the oldes computer game still under active development https://i.imgur.com/GKENBLx.jpg

Both have active communities, check out the respective subReddits, once you have a Z-machine installed on your Kindle, check out the IF-archive, tehy have an annual competition for best interactive fiction.
