It's easy to copy and paste Fire Watch into NotePad, then into a Word template formatted for your reader and saved as rtf.

I feel better after viewing some of the comments here. I thought that something was happening with my sensibilities when I finished reading the Doomsday Book with kind of a blasé feeling about the whole experience, and a sudden hunger to immediately start reading something completely different.
![]() Connie Willis is a gifted writer, I'm sure, but --- I haven't had the desire to read anything by her since my first engagement... |

I started, it did not like it. Dropped it.
Same category as Robin Hobb - extremely boring, miserable and predictable. Somehow this kind of writing is fashionable. Life is too short for this. |

I consider it a very good book. I discovered her when I read Lincoln's Dreams. I like her 'hectic living' writing style.
I've read science fiction for almost 50 years and I think she has her place in the fold. But, each to her or his own. Dean |

I enjoyed it a lot... when it was first published. I've not tried any of her recent works, though. I thoroughly enjoyed Lincoln's Dreams, too.
