I had some friends who lived near a river and had a lot of electronics get flooded. The insurance agent told them to try hosing in the back yard and let everything dry. They did and nearly everything worked again.

My first pocket pc fell in a bucket of clean water. I opened it up and dried it out then left it to dry off. After a few days it was good as new and still works.

A lot probably depends on the liquid and how quickly you treat it.
