The last time I read a clancy book was when Rainbow Six came out.

Larry Bond has also written some books of his own. I've read Red Phoenix (co-authored by Patrick Larkin, though only Larry Bond is mentioned on the cover), and really enjoyed it. He's written others, but I never got around to reading them.
I enjoyed Larry Bond's stuff. Last Clancy I read was Red Rabbit. I want those hours of my life back.

I picked up Red Rabbit and went "Nope" and left it at the bookstore.

This is probably where you get the sea battle details.
Correct. They actually gamed out some of the encounters to see what would happen for the book.

Tom Clancy. Probably the most innovative of them all. (I am putting him with Ms. J.K. Rowling and Ms. Jean M. Auel).

Red Storm Raising is the one I reread the most. The low altitude fights and the tank actions have remained alive in my mind years after years, and have given me undiluted satisfaction.

There are two more books that I reread several times. Without Remorse and Clear and Present Danger. In both books, the details have remained tasty after many rereads, (resteeps in tea's lore).

I have read the two about Jack Ryan Jr., The Teeth of the Tiger and Dead or Alive. Not that bad. I will get the next one Dead or Alive when it comes up. There is still something there, I do not know exactly what, but something. Certainly not in the class of the opening sentences in the The Hunt for Red October, where I got hooked for good. Mr. Clancy certainly knows how to write, not only to research.

I have not touched the series Op-Center, NetForce, NetForce Explorers, Power Plays. Why? Why should I?

PS. A word of advice to newbies. Posting links is very easy on this site and it is helpful to others.
