I'm not concerned about style/class or price, but it has to survive a fall onto a hard floor with the cover open. I've seen 2-4mm thick neoprene covers for iPads, and I'd imagine if the covered iPad somehow gets knocked off a table it'll bounce. For instance, there's extra padding on the corners and knobs on the face so that there is less shock falling on-corner or on-edge and the screen cannot possibly be impacted directly if it falls flat on the floor. No so sure with these leather-type cases for the PocketBook.
thanks for this - at last some covers for the larger models! I am not too sure about protection, but sure it would make handling much more comfortable.

I have one of the new Tuff-Luv covers on the way, I'll let you know what I think.

I broke down and got one too. Problem with this is that there's a little strap of leather on the upper right corner over where my finger needs to go to pry out the PocketBook 903's touchscreen stylus. It's no fault of Tuf-Luv's though, they explictly state this case is for the 902 (which doesn't have a touchscreen or stylus).

One friend suggested I hire a leatherworker to make a custom case from scratch, while another suggested I ask only for the little strap to be altered to become a velcro strap. Peel back the velcro and get at the stylus...

A hand-made leather case probably wouldn't have the magnets that the Tuf-Luv case uses to keep the case shut and prevent the stand from flopping around. I imagine an alteration would look ugly, and I didn't want the extra bulk of velcro, a buckle, or a clasp. While velcro will wear out with repeated use, buckles/clasps are sharp and this unit needs to survive a drop.

I considered drilling a hole in the stylus and looping string through that. Pull the string and pull out the stylus... but I didn't want to damage the unit in order to better use the case.

For lack of a better idea, this is how I'm stringing up the stylus.
1) Get a thin metal sewing needle.
2) For safety, roll a little masking tape around the pointy end. Cut the tape with a razor to finish the roll cleanly.
3) For aesthetics, color the masking tape black with a permanent marker.
4) Thread the needle and knot it. Black string looks fine.
5) Now you have a black taped needle with a loop of string threaded through it.
6) Loop the string around the stylus so that pulling the needle pulls the stylus out when the stylus is in the PocketBook. A lark's head knot seems to work well for this. https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikiped...wiki/Cow_hitch

The stylus fits in fine with a loop of string around it. The taped needle slides in between the leather case, the 903, and the topmost velcro strap of the case, providing three points of contact. It doesn't shake loose with the case closed.

It's still a bit ugly, with the loose loop of string effectively being a handle to pull out the needle for pulling out the stylus. Any better ideas?

this sounds pretty neat to me, given your constraints: but I wonder whetehr you are still in time to return it, as there is one more cover which I just saw (here) that looks like it wouln't pose problems for the stylus.
It is more expensive than the Tuff-luv one, and it does not have a stand, but it is real leather.

I've had a closer look on the covers Paola found, but they don't seem worth the money, the flip-top cover is not always handy, because sometimes you'll like to hold a "book", the other one is not processed very good, although it's real leather. The upper right corner is to big, even considering the stylus, so there's a big risk of kinking it, the leather is to thin to go without amplification around the main buttons, and I'm not too sure that the pockets for the SD cards are proof of cracking your screen,if you actually put a card into them. It also isn't made of pure leather , but fabric on the inside, there's nothing said about fastening the strapover on the top side, and there is a metal knob on the backside for securing closed, instead of some magneto.
Regardless of that I'm looking for a bicoloured case ( white inside), but meanwhile I'm up to designing one myself, I'll let you see pictures when finished and an ~price.

well thought, especially regarding the card pockets, as e.g. the tuff-luv one has them outside, so no pressure there. The good thing is that two covers appeared in a few days, so hopefully there will be soon more to choose from.
