That's what I've done and it works like a charm.

For all of you, it is thus worth to install this firmware just for the benefit of having a single css file on the reader.

The choice is clear -- 350. I bought it on that Sunday from B&H and to my surprise much prefer its 5" screen to 6" screens.

Thanks for all the constructive comments to this thread, and also to those of you who took the trouble to vote. In the end, I plumped for the Sony, and it should arrive later today. The excitement mounts...

You mentioned "the odd PDF", so I wanted to remind you that those books are an area where the new Sony series has really improved, with the options for margin cropping, zooming, etc. - two-column PDF's are best read in 4-quadrant mode I've found.
