first glitch - I installed the software on my PC, downloaded succesfully an epub book, but when pressing on the "show" button, the book does not open, and windows asks me for a program to open this unrecognised format - any clues? I have checked on the manual, but it does not mention the "show" function (at least, I could nto find it). Same applies to the pre-installed user manual, which won't open either.

Hello paolamanzini

You are right, the behavior of the Show button isn’t described in the manual and unfortunately a ebook viewer (e.g. for epub files) is missing in the first beta of libris Me. We are working on this bit but for now you can use libirs Me mainly for organizing books, getting content and synchronizing with an ebook reader device.

When using the show button, Windows is asked to open the file. E.g. if you use the show button on a pdf-book your default pdf viewer will be used to open it. If you have an epub viewer installed on you computer a epub book will be opened in this viewer; otherwise you will get the message asking for such a program.

Currently we do not support the Pocketbook 903 but the 360°. Both devices should be compatible on how to synchronize book to them. Maybe you like to test it and give us some feedback.

Thnaks - I have donlwoaded the epub viewer firefox plugin, and indeed it works - but (especially comparing with calibre), having the option to preview books is rather convenient.
As for the PB903, I'll let you know how I get on with it as soon as I receive it - for the moment I am organising libraries, and trying to find out how to download newspapers.

I'll give this a try over the next few days - another piece of useful software can't be a bad thing, if it's well executed. The need for NET4 is a non-issue frankly and I can't for the life of me see why it's being made into a big deal.

I have to say though, like others have already, that it'll have to grow into something very, very good indeed if you intend to charge for it while Calibre is still free. Calibre may have a lot of advanced options, but the fact is that you don't really need to touch them at all, making it basically plug & play. Or at least that has been the case for me.

You can't convert a book with DRM, you need to removed the DRM first, then you can convert it.

ghostyjack is right. To convert a DRM protected file one has to remove the DRM first. Then this file can be converted as any other epub file.
But removing DRM copy protection is illegal in most countries and libris Me cannot offer such a feature.
